UNDER THE ABAYA: Street Style From Saudi Arabia

A sold-out success that moved 450 copies in less than two months from its official release date, Under The Abaya: Street Style from Saudi Arabia, the first-ever street-style book published in the Kingdom, took the Art Books Jeddah fair by storm in February 2018.

The proceeds from sales of Under The Abaya: Street Style from Saudi Arabia were directed to providing scholarships and learning materials for promising students at the Future Institute of Higher Education & Training for Ladies (FIL).

PIAGET: SUNLIGHT JOURNEY EXHIBITION IN MONACO

Hosted by the Jeddah-based VIP art collector and philanthropist Mona Khashoggi, Piaget’s Sunlight Journey exhibition took place at the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco to celebrate the launch of its pop-up boutique inside.

Saudi VIPs from Ms. Khashoggi’s network were given exclusive access to the event, where they previewed Piaget’s latest collection to the sounds of musical guest Bob Sinclar, a renowned French house DJ.

BURBERRY: RUNWAY TO REALITY

This highly exclusive shoppable event unveiled Burberry’s latest collection before its arrival in boutiques. In attendance were some of the most stylish women in the Middle East and the crème de la crème of Saudi society, among them royals, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and media personalities.

The event led to record-breaking sales for Burberry’s Runway to Reality concept, surpassing those made earlier in Shanghai.

RAY-BAN #PROUDTOBELONG CAMPAIGN

The global eyewear brand hosted its first EMEA-wide social-media campaign, #ProudToBelong, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At the event, a crowd of West Coast millennials partied Ray-Ban-style to a set by musical headliner DJ Hassan Ghazzawi, which was followed by surprise performances from hip-hop artists 2Fitch, Randar, Alyoung, and Ameer.

Attendees included Jeddah’s most popular influencers and YouTube vloggers, among them the brothers behind The Saudi Reporters, Abdulaziz and Abdullah Bakr; Moiyad Ba; Ali Alsharief; Ahmad Almalki; and style influencer Nirvana Abdul.

CHRISTIE’S

The iconic British auction house, Christie’s, held its VIP Jewelry Expo in the luxurious Al-Muraba Historical Palace located in the heart of Riyadh City under the patronage of His Excellency Turki Al-Sheikh. The grand jewelry expo showcased the biggest collection of jewelry by the auction house, attracting both high-profile international and Arab audiences.

Niche Arabia hosted over 100 HNWIs and VIPs to attend the five-day event that includes a private dinner and special preview of the exclusive collection brought by Christie’s.

MDL BEAST

The region’s biggest-ever music event, the MDL Beast Festival, took place in Riyadh in December 2019. The three-day event was attended by more than 400,000 people, including the most recognizable names in music and social media. Internationally renowned DJs such as Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Peggy Gou, and Tiësto played back-to-back sets.

MDL Beast attendees were also treated to a “B-side” retail area where local Saudi creatives presented products and services for purchase. Highlights included the Instagram-worthy Cadillac Arcade, which allowed guests the opportunity to play vintage video games between musical performances.
